Âmok/Âmok

Lore Borremans (b. 1993) earned her Master’s in Dance at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. She has worked as a performer with Troubleyn/Jan Fabre in Mount Olympus; To Glorify the Cult of Tragedy; Belgian Rules/Belgium Rules and The Power of Theatrical Madness. She was Jan Farber’s artistic assistant for the solo Resurrexit Cassandra (2019) and has made choreographies for various organizations (including the Opera Forward Festival, Dutch National Opera and Ballet, Amsterdam). Together with her fellow maker Adam Clarke, she founded her own company, Âmok/Âmok, a platform that concentrates on the language of physical dance theatre.

Adam Vincent Clarke (b. 1992, CA) is a contemporary music composer who among other things finds inspiration in storytelling and folk traditions. Y Tú (2018) and I don’t (we)know (2019) are dance pieces that he created in tandem with Daniel Domenech for Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. These pieces combine previously recorded interviews with people from all over the world with live instruments and present them together on stage. He is composer-in-residence for the internationally touring Ensemble Silakbo (which worked together with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra for Concerto for Vagabonds Orchestra, 2019). He is cofounder of Âmok/Âmok, in which he and Lore Borremans co-create pieces such as contr(a/o) vers(e/u)s (2019) and the planned Between Dreams and Drowning (2021).
