SUN-SET

Bosse Provoost & Ezra Veldhuis

An intimate performance that stretches your imagination to the limits – or beyond.

In the beginning, there was nothing but formless darkness. Since time immemorial, humans have been telling themselves different stories about what came after that: the genesis of the universe. In SUN-SET, Ezra Veldhuis, Bosse Provoost and Oshin Albrecht attempt to visualize a 'cosmogonic moment', the fragile moment in which ‘nothing’ turns into ‘something’. Navigating between light and darkness, abstraction and figuration, SUN-SET evokes bastard worlds in a theatre space that seems to be alive itself.

“What’s so brilliant about this production is that they start with old, familiar visual formulas in which ‘light’ dramatically symbolizes ‘truth’ and ‘creation’ and end up somewhere else. They show us that we ourselves produce reality.” – Pieter T'Jonck in Pzazz, 6 February 2020
