detheatermaker is a nomadic platform that supports new creators in the performing arts. In a multi-year trajectory, it offers artists space to develop their work and career, with attention to specific needs, dialogue and care. Together with various partners, detheatermaker provides appropriate support, while also engaging in the sharing of knowledge and collective learning processes to strengthen the arts field of the future.
Elke Huybreghts (they/them) holds a Master's in Theatre and Film Studies, worked for Etcetera as an intern, as a member of the editorial board and an author, and is pursuing part-time studies in Teaching and Directing in Maastricht. Elke writes reviews for Pzazz, loves dramaturgy and has been a Freinet and experiential educator for several years. Elke alternates between teaching Latin, Dutch, writing, Word, and Relational and Sex Education. After having had a conversation with Elke, we decided to join forces and organize Welcome To The Field.
Tristan Feyten (he/him) is a theatre maker and actor with a strong preference for visual work and object theatre. In 2021, he graduated from LUCA School of Arts with his graduation project, OVER/\HERE. That same year, he and several others founded Het Toneelscholenfestival, a drama school festival. Together with Runa Robbroeckx, Stan Martens and Femke Van der Steen, he won the Boze Wolf award for up-and-coming talent for OVER/\HERE in 2022. Then, as Collectief OVERHERE, they delved even deeper into the world of slapstick and object theatre in their second show, OVER//HERE, in coproduction with fABULEUS and Theater FROEFROE. In 2023, together with Van der Steen, Tristan Feyten was selected for the Flemish-Brabant Eigen Kweek (homegrown) trajectory, after which There Never Was a Box (Mater II) was created. Feyten has performed in productions by such companies as Comp. Marius and Het Nieuwstedelijk, and regularly works as a voice actor.
Since 2024, he is continuing his love for young and radical work as a ‘resonant’ (a theatre maker who mentors artists) at detheatermaker, and will be your host during Welcome To The Field!
