Mira Maria Studer was born in 1996 in Switzerland with Peruvian roots and lives and works in Brussels and Zurich. After being trained in music and singing from an early age, her desires shifted. She completed a BA in contemporary dance at La Manufacture in Lausanne 2019, and continued training at La Faktoria in Pamplona. With dance and singing as artistic practices, she understands choreography and music as chiasmatic partners between which her work oscillates. She is part of the performance collective noDIN, which was supported by Danse & Dramaturgie by ProHelvetia in 2021. Their works include Choose your weapon (2020) and I am many, I contains multitudes (2022), both premiered at Südpol, Luzern. In the frame of the STUDIOS program at P.A.R.T.S., Brussels, her artistic research is currently focused on the distortion of the gesture of singing. It is a practice of disorientation to give rise to landscapes from which strange voices might emanate. She loves karaoke.
