The city's light shines too brightly
Close the curtains
Board up your windows
Kill the city
Shut it out
In the solo BOBBY H̶e̶r̶e̶ f̶o̶r̶ y̶o̶u̶, Romy Louise Lauwers, directed by Peter Seynaeve, sketches a portrait of the inner world of a contemporary hermit set against the great challenges of the 21st century. How do I take care of myself when we as a society seem unable to take care of each other or the world?
After years of artistic kinship, a shared alter ego emerged between Romy and Peter: Bobby.
Bobby has retreated to a flat, never leaves the house and watches the world from a window. Bobby takes daily walks on Google Maps, during one of which Bobby foresees the end of the world. Bobby is a seer. Bobby is your opposite neighbour but also God.
