La Fiesta de Delfina

Désirée Cerocién & Luis Miguel Ramirez Muñoz

The show, led by two masked characters in a birthday party setting, offers a strange mix of dance and clownery in a fragmented, grim and sometimes grotesque story.

La Fiesta de Delfina addresses themes such as celebration, death, and the absence of love ones and questions the place of performers and 'entertainment', whether it be in a European black box theatre or at a birthday party in a garage in Latin America. For the performers, this piece is a step toward a dialogue about and syncretism of their dual culture (they both emigrated from Latin America to Europe and discovered contemporary dance here), toward reflection on what the evolution of and the merging relations between urban culture, dance and institutional art might be.
