Mano Amaro

Mano Amaro (b. 1967) is from Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul, Pelotas. He studied Afro-Brazilian dance at the Dance Academy of Salvador, Bahia. After that he followed both modern and contemporary dance courses with Beka Kanaan, Rubens Barbot, Newton Moraes and Eva Schuul. In 1996, he moved to Belgium and danced with various choreographers, including Ann Van Den Broeck, Lu Marivoet, Agnia Saruliene and Goele Van Dijck. In 2008, he worked as a choreographer for the Défilé of the Lyon Dance Biennale. In recent years he has worked solo or in duos on dance performances, creating Ori Dança, A=A and NOORD/SUL.
