Valentina Tóth is an actress, singer, theatre maker and songwriter. After studying classical piano at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels (KCB), she graduated in 2018 as an actress from the RITCS (Royal Institute of Theatre, Cinema and Sound) in Brussels. Since then, she has worked as an actress and theatre maker in the Netherlands and Flanders. She has performed and created shows at De Toneelschuur, Het Houten Huis, Theater Antigone, De Kopergietery, WOLF WOLF and Groots en Meeslepend, among others.
In 2022, Valentina was the winner of the Amsterdams Kleinkunst Festival: she received both the jury award (AKF Wim Sonneveld Prize) and the audience award. The newspaper Het Parool called her ‘an enchanting, absolutely sensational performer’, while De Volkskrant described her work as ‘an idiosyncratic mix of cabaret, classical opera music and musicals’ and Theaterkrant wrote: ‘What a musical talent, what a stage presence, what guts!’
In 2023, De Volkskrant named her Comedy Talent of the Year. Valentina performed in WOLF WOLF’s production Voorjaarsontwaken. This show was selected in 2023 for the Flemish TheaterFestival. Moreover, she and the cast won the Flemish Actors’ Guild award for Best Ensemble Work.
Valentina’s work is a mix of theatre, classical music, comedy, cabaret and opera. Currently, Valentina is touring the country with her first full-length solo show, Wildbloei. She received rave reviews: De Volkskrant, NRC and Trouw honoured Wildbloei with five stars. In Theaterkrant, the show was labelled ‘the critic’s choice’. Wildbloei was also selected for the Netherlands Theater Festival 2024, as part of the Cabaret Collection.
