Dans - Triple Bill

Mei-Li, Marta Jamsja & Ella-My Blomdahl

Mei-Li - Epílogo
Epílogo
is about the experience of having a body. In collaboration with James Hall, they attempt to create a memory capsule for a future self. In this solo, the performer is supported by two screens for the purpose of exploring the relationship between dance and film. The goal is to create an archive for something as invisible as ‘experiencing’ and ‘feeling’. Epílogo aims to capture everything that is contained in and expressed by the body, which is timeless, invisible and inescapable.

Marta Jamsja - Show Me the Steep and Thorny Way to Heaven
In the mist and darkness, Marta meets Ophelia as she takes her last breaths and is preparing to leave this world. Shakespeare felt that the overwhelming conflicts between her boyfriend (Hamlet) and her father were too burdensome for Ophelia, but his assessment of her character was totally incorrect.
This is a story of transformation, of allowing oneself to be the truest and most liberated version of oneself. A nebulous encounter between Marta’s and Ophelia’s spirits as they set out on a journey through parts of each other's lives, imagining an even greater future for themselves.

Ella My Blomdahl - Ditch Dance
Ditch Dance explores the relationship between body and landscape, specifically focusing on the bogland in the forest of Torlarp in Sweden, where the performer's roots lie. A place with many stories, which have sparked both mystery and curiosity. The performance incorporates wetland mythologies and explores the idea of sinking and descending into the bog. The bog, with its ability to transform the human body into a hybrid creature, becomes a metaphor for the fluidity and malleability of gender and identity.
Ditch Dance
is a solo performance by Ella-My Blomdahl in collaboration with sound designer Dimitra Sofroniou. The piece has been developed in close correlation with sound and builds on electronic music mixed with folkloristic influences.
