Louis Janssens (b. 1995) graduated in 2018 with a degree in Drama from the School of Arts|KASK Ghent. Since 2012, he and Ferre Marnef have worked as the two-person collective Desnor. Their shows include Ideale Plaats (2013), #BOS (2014) and Galileo (2017). Toverberg premiered at the Love at First Sight Festival 2019 (LafS#5).
In addition to his work with Ferre in Desnor, Janssens also does various solo projects, including Ouvertures (2016). In 2018, he worked together with Timo Sterckx on his graduation project, The Greatest Show on Earth, which earned him the Horlait-Dapsens graduation project award and a selection for TAZ#2018 (Oostende). He did a work placement as assistant director for the production MUUR (2018) by Floor van Leeuwen. Last year, Janssens organized the one-off performance Listen to your heart for LafS#5. His solo Serenade, a coproduction by Desnor with d e t h e a t e r m a k e r and Muziektheater Transparant, will premiere in August 2021 and is in the ‘new young’ section of Het Theaterfestival.
